 Benefits of Living In Albuquerque

  • Albuquerque is a city rich in history, culture, and breathtaking scenery, making it a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Known for its blue skies, we receive around 310 days of sunshine each year and are blessed with a mild, dry climate that allows for four distinctly beautiful seasons.

  • Albuquerque is home to the International Balloon Fiesta, which dates back to 1972. The event, which is held in early October, is the largest hot air balloon festival in the world and attracts locals and tourists, alike.

  • Albuquerque’s proximity to both mountains and rivers attracts skiers, hikers, rafters, balloonists, and adventure-seekers of all kinds. Exploring the wide variety of geography and landscapes is a favorite of many residents.

  • Albuquerque is also home to the Albuquerque Biological Park (Zoo and Aquarium), the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the National Atomic Museum, Petroglyph National Monument, and the Sandia Mountain Wilderness. Other national parks and scenic areas are within a short drive away and make for fun weekend or day trips.

  • Our city and surrounding areas offers excellent restaurants, breweries, and shopping, with many art galleries, museums, and events in Albuquerque, nearby Santa Fe, and small quaint towns along the way. The unique "mezcla" or mix of cultures is at the forefront of food, family, traditions, and community.

  • The city is noted as a center for health and medical services in the region, as well as for government agencies, nuclear research, banking, and tourism that are vital to our economy. There are growing high-technology centers in Albuquerque, including Intel Corporation, the state's largest manufacturing facility.

  • Last but not least, Albuquerque has a number of universities, technical institutes, medical and law campuses, and community colleges, including but not limited to the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, and Central New Mexico Community College.
